Ingredients

  • 1 small onion, sliced

  • 1 tablespoon oil

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce

  • 1 teaspoon fish sauce

  • 1 teaspoon sugar

  • 1 handful fresh basil (Thai basil preferred)

  • Optional: fried egg for serving


Step‑by‑Step Instructions

  1. Heat the skillet Add oil over medium‑high until shimmering.

  2. Sauté aromatics Add garlic and chilies. Cook 20–30 seconds until fragrant.

  3. Add chicken Add ground chicken. Break it up and cook until lightly browned.

  4. Add sauces Stir in soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, and sugar. Let it reduce slightly.

  5. Add onions Cook 2–3 minutes until softened.

  6. Finish with basil Turn off heat. Add basil and stir until wilted.

  7. Serve Spoon over rice. Add a fried egg if you want it traditional.
