Step up your slicing game. The Gourmet Asian Cleaver is a versatile knife, designed to serve as a heavy-duty chef knife, that is well suited for slicing, dicing, mincing, scooping, and even smashing. Slice through oddly shaped vegetables, from lettuce and butternut squash, to the thickest roasts with ease. Smashing is suggested for food items such as lemongrass and garlic and also to tenderize cutlets. Its unique lighter blade, compared to big and heavy cleavers, is not recommended to be used for splitting and breaking poultry or other butcher bones.
Hand washing your cleaver in mild, soapy water and drying is recommended. Avoid dishwashers as the corrosive detergent can cause oxidation or mild discoloration.
