Ingredients

  • 3 large eggs

  • 1 tablespoon milk or water

  • Salt and pepper

  • 1 tablespoon butter

  • Optional fillings: cheese, spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes, onions, ham, herbs


Instructions

  1. Beat the eggs In a bowl, whisk eggs, milk (or water), salt, and pepper until smooth.

  2. Heat the skillet Add butter over medium heat. Let it melt and coat the surface.

  3. Pour and swirl Add the eggs and tilt the skillet so they spread evenly.

  4. Pull the edges As the eggs set, gently pull the edges toward the center, letting uncooked egg flow outward.

  5. Add fillings Once the top is slightly glossy but not runny, add your fillings to one side.

  6. Fold and finish Fold the omelette over the fillings. Cook another 20–30 seconds for a soft center or longer for firm.

  7. Serve Slide onto a plate and garnish with herbs if you like.
